Hopeful for the new year

So here I am, alone on New Years Eve. Well, I guess I shouldn't say I'm alone because my little boy is fast asleep in his bed right now. And my neighbors are outside setting off fireworks. But the person I want to celebrate the New Year with the most is not here right now. He's in Pakistan, serving in the US Army and is unable to be here with me. We haven't really celebrated New Years Eve since we've been in Germany because, well, it's just not the same. I like to watch the Dick Clark count down and the ball drop on Times Square. You can't really get that here, since there is such a huge time difference. So it's kind of anticlimactic. However I am noticing my neighbors have already started setting off their fireworks. This is my first New Years Eve in a German community and it seems like they are pretty gung-ho on the fireworks. I just hope it doesn't wake up my little boy. It's so hard to get him back to bed!
So anyway, I've just been sitting here watching Deep Impact, one of the many DVD's my husband and I have accumulated since we've come overseas, sulking in my own self pity. This got me thinking, since misery loves company, why not start a blog. After all, I've got nothing better to do. LOL!
I also have this habit of surfing the web while I watch TV. While I was doing that tonight I found the either a joke site, or the strangest religious website I've ever seen.

If they are serious about what they are preaching I've never had a better reason to Agnostic. I love it when I stumble upon interesting sites like this. If anyone reading this has any good sites that are just plain ridiculous, pass them on to me. I'm always up for some controversy or just a good laugh.
Well, it's getting close to that magical moment where I'm supposed to be kissing someone. Sure miss my hubby. I guess when the fireworks wake up my little one, I'll give him a kiss goodnight. I can only hope that 2006 brings better times for us then 2005. This last year pretty much sucked.
Happy New Year......
